Missions Trips
For the past ten years, God has stirred the hearts of our teens and adults to participate in worldwide outreach through missions trips. It is not a planned venture by the leadership of Cornerstone, but rather, teams and individuals go out as they sense God's leading. The blessings have been manifold. Below is an itinerary of the areas where God has blessed us to minister.

Prayer Walks
This past summer we sensed a burden from the Lord to leave our building on Prayer meeting night and send teams out into various communities to walk the streets and parks praying for revival and God’s saving intervention. In some cases this led to witnessing opportunities. We plan to do more of the same when the weather warms and the daylight is longer.
Waterville Christmas Parade
This year we teamed with Child Evangelism Fellowship to hand out 1000 bags of treats and tracts to children during the parade. We received requests for a number of Bibles and were able to deliver those in follow-up.
Home Mission Outreach 2007
Many in our congregation are blessed to travel to foreign fields on mission trips for outreach each year. Sensing a deeper burden and responsibility to do more evangelistically at home, we did our first Home Mission trip this year. Many of our folk committed to a week of outreach in the local area (July 15 - 22). We were joined by Brian Lowrie from Making A Difference Ministries in Scotland. Brian is a gifted speaker (especially with the youth) and mixes his messages with puppet interaction and illustrative illusions.
Monday thru Friday, we ran a Vacation Bible Club during the mornings for ages 5 - 11 yrs. The theme centered on the life of Joseph in Egypt. The church was decorated in Egyptian decor, complete with pyramid and palm trees. Special thanks to Megan Denny and Jessica LaFountain for your coordinating skills! Under Brian's able leadership and preaching, children loved the program and learned many great Bible truths.
Each afternoon, we sent teams out into the communities to do outreach. Brian led a team at North Street Park doing open air ministry. We gathered people under the picnic pavilion for puppet music, Gospel illusions and messages, balloon tying and one on one witnessing opportunities. Other teams did servant evangelism projects at the Homeless Shelter and a Senior Citizens complex. Our goal here was to sow seeds of kindness by serving our neighbors in practical ways (maintenance, gardening, cleaning, etc.).
Brian also ministered with some of our folk at our weekly outreaches in the Skowhegan Jail and a Youth Center in Fairfield. His testimony had a huge impact on lives in both settings.
May the Lord water all the seeds sown in this intense time of outreach. We pray God will give us a greater vision for Home Mission Outreach in 2008. Meanwhile, we continue to pray for more fruit and more effectiveness in reaching our neighbors for Christ on a day to day basis.
