Spiritual Leadership

1. Overview.
The world needs leaders. The church needs leaders. The family needs leaders. The workplace needs leaders. But what does that mean? Leadership is influence. And influence requires much more than the gift of gab, and a nice smile. It is the coming together of ability, discipline, and godly character. This study will look into the heart of leadership using Oswald Sanders’ book, Spiritual Leadership as a guide. Topics will include such things as “Servant Leadership,” “Leadership and Time,” and “The Art of Delegation.”

This is not a class just for deacons or elders. This is a class for people, both men and women, who want to be more influential for the truth of the gospel of God and who are in a place of life where they can take this seriously.

2. What to Expect?
This will be a conversational class, not a book club. My aim is to set a tone that is open,
vulnerable, challenging, and prayerful. Expect to be asked questions, not just about the ideas in the book, but also about realities in your life- about how you are being influential at home, at work, and in the church. We will thus be aiming more at transformation than information. So please come ready to read, to share, to listen, and to grow.

3. Schedule.
Start Date: Oct. 9th , 2022.
Time: Sundays from 4pm-5pm. (one hour)
Place: At the church (CCF)
Duration: 22 weeks. (this will take us all the way up to Summer 2023!)
Preparation: Buy and read the first chapter of Spiritual Leadership: Principles of Excellence for Every Believer by J. Oswald Sanders (Moody Publishers, 2007 edition).
